Cold Brew

Cold Brew Concentrated 2 Liters

What you need

- Toddy Set

- Water Jar

- bowl

- Soup spoon

- Digital Scale

- Grinder (if you have whole beans)

- 400g of good coffee

Step 1

Measure 2L of water.

Step 2

Place the rubber cap in the hole at the bottom of the device.

Step 3

Wet the wool filter and place it in the circular groove at the bottom of the Toddy.

Step 4

Grind 400g of coffee (best) or get the same amount of pre-ground coffee. The beans should be ground at a coarse level.

Step 5

Add 200g of room temperature water. Add 200g of coffee. Add 900g of water in circular motion. Make sure to wet all the coffee grounds. Don’t stir. Let it sit for 5 minutes.

Step 6

Add more 200g of coffee. Complete with more 900g of room temperature water in circular motion making sure all the grounds are wet. With the back of a spoon, try to push gently all the grounds to make sure all of them are inside the wet. Don’t stir because this could clogg the wool filter when the cold brew is ready.

Step 7

Let it sit for 12 – 24 hours.

Step 8

Position the equipment over the glass decanter and carefully take out the rubber cap from the bottom of the Toddy.

Step 9

Close the decanter and put it into a refrigerator, This can stay up to 2 weeks in the fridge without losing its taste.

Step 10

This cold brew is concentrated. It should be diluted 1 part of coffee to 2 parts of water or milk. Or you can just pour it over a glass full of ice, so you can adjust to your taste.

What you get

When you use hot water to brew coffee it pulls some of the most intense and aromatic chemicals out of coffee beans, which translates into the acidic, slightly bitter taste of hot-brewed coffee.

Because cold brew is made with cool water, it tastes slightly sweeter, a bit milder and way less acidic than the average cold coffee.
